Chairs
A mandate fills an executive seat, with authority to decide and accountability for the result. Any executive seat can be filled on a fractional basis; these are the ones we run today.
CAIO — Chief AI Officer
For the company that wants to use AI in earnest and cannot hand over its data to find out how.
The mandate covers the data and AI architecture in layers — single source of truth, document ingestion, semantic layer, orchestration, consumption; private AI governance, with zero retention and LGPD compliance built into the design rather than patched on later; an impartial evaluation across providers, layer by layer, with costs compared; and enabling the team to build with AI inside clear security and access limits — so that the productivity gain stays with the company, not with the vendor.
CDO — Chief Development Officer
For the company that buys development work and projects, and needs someone accountable for them on the paying side.
The mandate runs the project and the vendors: it writes the requirement before the vendor writes it for you, evaluates proposals on comparable criteria, follows the execution, tests the delivery and rejects what is not ready. It applies to software houses, ERP rollouts, cloud contracts, systems integrators.
It is the chair that resolves the most expensive conflict of interest in buying technology: when the vendor specifies, executes and certifies its own quality, all three ends of the contract are the same party. The cost of the mandate is usually a fraction of what a badly written scope costs.
CSO — Chief Sales Officer
For the company with a good product and a sales operation that is not yet predictable — or the one between one sales leader and the next.
The mandate covers commercial growth strategy and market design: priority segments, ideal customer, positioning, value proposition, channels and partnerships; pipeline governance, with objective qualification criteria and a forecast worth betting on; leadership of the team, with defined roles, performance management and developing the people who stay; and direct involvement in the negotiations that decide the quarter.
The arithmetic it runs is the profitability of each customer, not the volume sold: pricing, margin, acquisition cost and what the relationship returns over time sit on the same table as the target. Sales connects to delivery, because a contract sold beyond what can be delivered is revenue that comes back as a problem. And CRM, dashboards and using AI to qualify and prepare are tools for that work, not a project of their own.
CTO — Chief Technology Officer
For the company that already depends on technology to operate and still decides technology by instinct.
The mandate covers architecture and the structural choices; the build-or-buy decision, with first-year and running costs on the table; the shape of the team — who to hire, in what order, with what profile; the governance that lets the team deliver without relying on heroics; and the roadmap that connects the two ends, from what exists today to what needs to exist.
If the seat your company needs is not here, the conversation starts the same way — and we say there and then whether we have someone, including when we do not.
